All animal and plant life will disappear from the Earth in the next billion years because there will be too little carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. As sun age grows hotter, which will result in larger amount of evaporation and reactions with rainwater will take away more and more of the carbon dioxide. Due to this the levels will decrease so low that photosynthesis plants will be unable to survive and with their loss, herbivorous animals will die out too due to starvation, and then carnivores that prey on them will also die out.

Days will be numbered even for microbes living on the planet. After another billion years, the oceans will dry out completely leaving only the hardiest bugs. The organisms that survive will have to deal with high temperatures and intense UV radiations.
